Particulate organic carbon (POC) climatologies have been generated at global scale over the first attenuation layer (surface layer) and the whole euphotic layer. This was achieved from the monthly SeaWiFS remote sensing data collected from 1998 to 2006. The surface data (in mg.m-3) have been obtained using the Loisel et al. (2002)’s algorithm, while the euphotic integrated POC values (in mg.m-2) have been generated according to Duforêt- et al. (submitted).
